About me

A cycle.traveller since 22 December 2024.

Cycling since 1955, me and my school friends took our bikes everywhere especially off road so learnt how to fix kit quickly. My dad - an engineer/cyclist/motorcyclist/car/caravan tourer - taught me a huge amount. Gave up bikes for motor bikes, then cars, then HGV and tractors. Took up MTB riding in 1990 and European touring on my MTB in 1999. Enduro racing in NZ in 2017 and touring there as well with lightweight kit. Now exploring Brittany (velo verte) and Cornwall (mainly off road) and planning my 2025 trips. Always build my own bikes with a mixture of new and used bits. Hate cycling in the rain so long distance running in bad weather keeps me fit.
