Track link: why only GPX?

Just discovered this site and I love it. I'm just wondering: why are there five formats for downloading routes, but track links are only provided in one format (GPX)? It means I either have to transfer a file from my PC to my phone (annoying) or use a navigation app that happens to support GPX (limits the choice quite a bit). This seems like an annoyance that would be easy to fix. Any plans for this?
