Search facility on your site for News or forum topics

Richard,

Do you have search  ‘facility’ for News or forum topics  on the site? Apologies if I’ve missed this but I have been looking but not found one.

GPX ‘trace’ and related ,matters

Richard, when uploading a GPX file to a CT map the first image that appears contains a turquoise line that is the ‘original ‘ GPX route  , as well as CT’s interpretation of that route. When you save that image as your chosen route the turquoise line disappears, as it does if you make any change ie ‘Any’ to ‘Paved’. for example. Is there any way that  that ‘original’ can be retained on the CT route image? A related question is what, on the drop down menu for the various types of map available’ does ‘Trace GPX’ mean? When you select it it just brings up photo/ file options?

Thanks

Routes v Tracks

I am familiar with planning and plotting routes on Cycle.Travel. Is it possible to superimpose on the same map the ‘track’ actually followed and recorded, should that end up being different from the planned route?

Thanks

Default map on opening screen

Dear Richard,

I have Cycle.Travel on iPhone and ipad, and also use on a PC. Unlike the last two, on my iPhone the first screen that appears on opening is a route I did in Spain 4 years ago, rather than my home town. I can’t seem to find a way to alter this on my phone. How do I reset this?

Thanks

Total ascent figure on elevation profile

Richard,

I am on holiday in Slovenia following routes I have ( as usual) planned on cycle.travel. I have completed two routes now and in both cases the total ascents ( as given on the elevation profile) are significantly at odds with my garmin totals ie 70% of the garmin total for one and a v surprising 50% for the other. Obviously, this causes some issues with accurate day planning, although at least they were underestimates. Do you know why this should be?

Regards
