Save route application

Hello we are using this handy cycle app for a sponsored cycle ride that my company is doing. One problem I've found is using the 'send to friend' function, when the recipient gets the route section none of them have been  able to use the 'save' function. Is it just not possible to do that or are they doing something wrong? I can save routes as the creator, but they can't as the recipient. Guidance welcomed.
