A cycle.traveller since 29 January 2022.
80 years old this year but still keen to get on a bike after a gap of 40 plus years. The incentive was due to son emigrating and leaving behind two beautiful bikes. I tried one after having it serviced with view to selling them both, and was hooked!
But finding it struggle to do more than 30 miles and hills more than 10% are daunting. Generally prefer paved sections or good trails. Thought of joining a local club but put off by age and inability to keep pace. As it stans I try to ride 10 to 20 miles three or four times a week over the last year. Certainly feel a lot better but wife worries when I'm out ( the roads around Hampshire aren't exactly safe) but there are some good minor roads as well.
Bikes are: Genesis Volare which was upgraded with Ultegra group set, Mavic rims etc(ex son's and see pic), Cannondale Quick for trails on 32 mm tyres and a Claud Butler on the Elite trainer. Oh and Rayleigh Motus ebike purchased earlier for use when away in our motorhome (shopping etc)
