Uddingston - Glasgow Central NCN 75

I was last in Glasgow before the commonwealth games and was looking forward to seeing if the NCN 75 back from work in Uddingston was as I remembered it especially in light of the changes that had taken place at both ends of this ride. It didn't bode well that the rain came down non-stop on the only day I could ride it and I guess I could be forgiven for wanting to take the train back. Having arrived at the station and seeing that I had a 10 minute wait, I decided to use the time to check out if the section from Uddingston station was the same. You can surmise what happened next - what a thoroughly enjoyable ride back to Glasgow! If anything, it was nicer than I remembered due to the fact that a lot of the hedges had been cut back, there was hardly any litter or glass on the trail and, due to the weather, I had it mostly to myself. The signs were still intact - I didn't need a map - and the scenery was lovely. What a good legacy the commonwealth village has turned out to be. A brilliant afternoon's ride!
