I use cycle.travel for route planning because your quiet-road algorithm is the best available. However, I currently pay for a Ride with GPS Premium subscription solely because cycle.travel lacks ride logging functionality. My current workflow is unnecessarily complex:
- Plan routes on cycle.travel desktop
- Export GPX and import to RWGPS
- Sync RWGPS routes to my Hammerhead Karoo
- Record rides on the Karoo
- Sync completed ride stats back to RWGPS
Since cycle.travel already collects GPS track data for travel tiles, you're capturing the necessary information to generate ride statistics (distance, time, elevation, speed, etc.) and maintain a ride history.
I would happily cancel my RWGPS Premium subscription and pay a similar amount for cycle.travel if you offered:
- Individual ride statistics and history
- Integration with GPS cycling computers (Karoo/Wahoo/Garmin) for direct route sync
- Automatic ride upload from devices back to cycle.travel
This would make cycle.travel a complete end-to-end platform and eliminate the need for multiple services. The routing is already superior, adding these features would make it an obvious choice for cyclists who currently pay for competing platforms.
