I notice that Cycle.travel now seems to show the total elevations at a lot less they actually are ........it's not done this is the past. I recently cycled a trip in Spain and some days it was over 1000 feet more when i cycled the route than it showed when i plotted it. I am heading to Portugal next week and a friend has sent me the route for a run he plotted on another site - his route shows 4137 feet but when I download to to Cycle.travel is shows 2900feet - quite a difference?
I have tried to download a route for my GPS as a tcx file and it downloads OK. However when I try to download it as a gpx file it states "......route name gpx is not commonly downloaded and may be dangerous" - then gives a 'discard' option? Why is this?
I have just been on a cycle tour in Spain with some friends. They had sent me the routes on GPX files before we left. I uploaded the GPX files onto cycle travel because I like to convert them to TCX files for my Garmin. We noticed many variations on my routes and wondered why? I have done a run today and uploaded the GPX route from Garmin Connect into cycle travel and notice that there are a number of variations of the route. I will send you the GPX file and perhaps you can look at this for me and explain?
Why when I download a GPX route onto cycle travel does it change the route in various places??
