We thought jumping on to our local off road route would be a pleasant journey rolling from to  Meeth to Croyde and good practice for our planned France Tour later this summer. That is until someone told us we had planned to camp in the middle of the Golden Coast's Ocean Fest; this wasn't my idea of pleasant, so we bailed off the trail early at Bideford and camped overnight at the wonderful Marshford campsite just outside Appledore.

Next day after time on the beach, we cycled back along a quiet Traka Trail admiring an adapted thorn tandem with a 7 yr old girl providing excellent stoker duties - all very slick - so we swapped numbers in order for us to buy the Thorn in 3 yrs time for our 4 yr old!

Our journey of 75km for our 4yr old was pretty ambitious with some  scary falling sleep moments on the tagalong. The latter piece of kit is a Followme Tandem which is excellent, but with a planned ride of nearly 400k through Brittany this summer I think we are all thinking of dusting off the chariot trailer for one last ride. Last night my girl and I stashed her isla bike on the back of the Chariot so we seem to have found a touring unit that I can tow with my Surly that fits the bill for this summer's tour. We will test this theory later in july on the last shake down tour along the kennet and avon canal
