My First Route

Just about to go away to a new area so I thought I'd try out cycle.travel. The route was very easy to construct and manipulate. It remains to be seen how the ride works out. One thing though when I tried to load the gpx onto my Garmin, I lost half the route due to too many points. (> 250), so I had to delete unnecessary points to make it work. Anyone know if the routes can be simplified easily? I used Mapyx Quo to edit the route, but it takes a bit of time to hand-edit.
