Hartcliffe, Bristol cycle paths

A friend of mine who lives in Hartcliffe has been exploring cycle paths in the area with her small son. They both very much enjoy cycling and the freedom this experience brings. However the enjoyment is somewhat reduced by poor maintenance of the paths they use. I am not a cyclist myself, ssdly, but feel that better maintenance would encourage more people in a rather deprived area to enjoy the freedom which cycling brings
